A Place to Call Home with Westpeak Support Services
At Westpeak Support Services, we believe that Supported Independent Living (SIL) should offer more than just support—it should provide a true sense of home. Through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), our SIL accommodation in Melbourne and Geelong is designed to help participants live as independently and comfortably as possible, while receiving the day-to-day assistance they need.
We don’t take a facility-based approach. Instead, we create welcoming, personalised homes where participants are encouraged to make their own choices—whether that’s how the home is decorated, how they’d like to be supported with cooking or laundry, or what daily activities they want to engage in. Every part of the experience is tailored around each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals.
With Westpeak, your NDIS-funded support helps build not just independence—but a life you genuinely enjoy living.
What is sil accommodation?
SIL is a type of NDIS-funded support that helps people with disabilities live more independently, either on their own or in a shared home. SIL provides assistance with everyday tasks such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, medication management, and developing life skills.
It’s not just about practical support—it’s about building confidence, promoting choice, and creating a stable, supportive environment where individuals can thrive. SIL services are tailored to meet each participant’s unique needs and goals, helping them lead a more independent and fulfilling life in a home that feels truly their own.

Inside a Typical Westpeak SIL Home
Westpeak’s SIL homes are thoughtfully selected and designed to ensure both comfort and accessibility. In cases where the property is a private rental, it will typically be a single-storey home with general accessibility features suitable for most participants. Shared accommodation usually includes two to three residents, with properties often featuring four bedrooms—three for NDIS participants and one designated for staff—as well as two bathrooms to support everyday needs with ease.

For participants requiring Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), the type of property will vary based on individual support needs. SDA homes can range from those offering improved liveability for participants with sensory or cognitive impairments, to more specialised settings such as Robust homes—built for those with complex behavioural needs and reinforced features—or High Physical Support homes, purpose-built for mobility aids such as wheelchairs and ceiling hoists.

Regardless of the type of accommodation, every home includes inviting shared spaces like a lounge, kitchen, and a garden or outdoor area. At Westpeak, we take great pride in ensuring that all our properties feel like a true home—never clinical or institutional. Our focus is on creating warm, welcoming environments that promote dignity, comfort, and a genuine sense of belonging for every participant.
What Support is Included in SIL Accommodation?
At Westpeak, our support services go far beyond daily routines—we’re here to support your lifestyle, your choices, and your long-term goals. From preparing meals together and helping with personal care, to medication support, cleaning, and attending appointments, our team is with you every step of the way. We tailor our support to your needs, ensuring your home is safe, comfortable, and truly your own.

But SIL at Westpeak is also about growing, learning, and living well. We work closely with you and your support team to identify the areas you’d like to build confidence in—whether that’s learning to cook, becoming more independent with household tasks, improving your health and wellbeing, or getting out into the community more often. We’ll help you build the skills that matter most to you, in ways that feel supportive and empowering.

Social connection is a key part of a fulfilling life, and we encourage all our residents to participate in their communities in ways that are meaningful to them. Whether you’d like us to support your community access directly, or you prefer another provider to take the lead, we’ll always respect and champion your choices. If we are supporting your outings or activities, we’ll work with you to plan them around your interests and NDIS goals—whether it’s a weekly schedule or a flexible, day-by-day approach.

Our staffing ratios are adjusted to suit your specific needs and NDIS funding, ranging from 1:3 to 2:1 and beyond when required. No matter the level of support, our focus remains the same: to provide high-quality, person-centred care that helps you live the life you want—on your terms, at your pace.
